Dental Bridges

A fixed bridge is an excellent solution for gaps created by missing teeth. A bridge consists of two crowns connected by an artificial tooth. When the crowns are placed over the teeth surrounding the gap, the artificial tooth fills in the empty space, helping to create a full, attractive smile. After being fit at our practice serving Danforth, Riverdale, and other areas of Toronto, dental bridges fit comfortably and securely, so there is no need to worry that they will accidentally fall out.

What Are Dental Bridges?

A fixed bridge is a solution for gaps created by missing teeth. A bridge consists of two crowns connected by an artificial tooth. When the crowns are placed over the teeth surrounding the gap, the artificial tooth fills in the empty space, helping to create a full, attractive smile. Bridges may also reduce your chance of developing bite problems which can result from gaps left by missing teeth.

In addition to improving your appearance and the structural integrity of your smile, bridges also reduce your chance of developing gum disease and bite problems, both of which often result from gaps left by missing teeth.

When you get a bridge you may prevent bite problems. A big gap between teeth can cause you to develop bite issues. In time, this could require you to seek dental help.

Dental Bridge Procedure

Initial evaluation – during your initial consultation, we will perform a thorough dental evaluation to assess the need for restorative dental treatment to replace missing teeth and determine whether bridges are the best option. In some instances, other restorative dental procedures may be appropriate.

First appointment – the first appointment involves preparing of abutment teeth, making your dental impressions and placing temporary bridges. Abutment teeth are teeth on either side of a gap. Preparing abutment involves re-contouring them for the bridge to be fitted. We use local anesthetic to eliminate discomfort during the procedure.

Second appointment – during the second appointment, your permanent bridge will be checked and adjusted, if necessary, to ensure a perfect fit.

What Are The Benefits Of Dental Bridges?

Dental bridges can:

  • Maintain your facial structure
